The Illusion of High Libido
Many men believe they have an exceptionally high sex drive that makes recovery impossible. In reality, what they are experiencing is not high libido, but a compulsive reward loop.
High libido is a healthy, natural response to real-world intimacy. Hyper-sexuality, on the other hand, is a craving for a chemical reset (dopamine and endorphins) triggered by stress, boredom, or environmental cues.
Disentangling Identity from Craving
- Separate Your Mind: The thoughts you have during an urge are not your core desires—they are the rationalizations of a dopamine-starved reward system.
- Observe the Trigger: Notice what happened right before the craving started. Was it a difficult work task? A feeling of loneliness? An uncomfortable conversation?
- Refile the Urge: Treat the craving as a symptom of a healing brain, not an expression of your character.
Put this into practice
Willpower is not enough. Automate the friction by utilizing Severity Mode and physical lockout protocols.
Rewriting the Self-Concept
You are not a broken machine. Your brain is simply executing a program that you repeatedly ran. By changing the program, you change the output.
